It was recently announced on the
PTR that the cooldown on your Elementals has been reduced from 20 minutes to 10:
- Earth Elemental Totem: The cooldown for this totem has been reduced from 20 minutes to 10 minutes. Cannot be used in Arenas.
- Fire Elemental Totem: The cooldown for this totem has been reduced from 20 minutes to 10 minutes. Cannot be used in Arenas.
This should definately provide a boost for PvE leveling, but it remains to be seen if they will come in handy in a raid or PvP environment. Reducing cooldowns seems to be
part of a growing trend lately. What do you think?

I like that they're reducing cooldowns. Sometimes people hesitate to use their skills with longer cooldowns for fear that they'll be on cooldown when they really need them, like I used to when Lay on Hands was an hour-long cooldown.
ReplyDeleteThis will hopefully see abilites like tranquility, divine hymn etc. getting a lot more use.
I'd have to say I agree with you. With these abilities rarely used as is, the reduction in cooldown makes them much more viable. Blow your cooldown at the wrong time? That's ok, it no longer takes an hour for it to reset... you'll be back up in no time and can use it on the next boss you down.
